Joseph Aidoo step-up pre-season training with new club Celta Vigo

Ghana defender, Joseph Aidoo has stepped up pre-season training with his new Celta Vigo side as they look to wrap up preparation ahead of the start of the 2019/2020 regular season.

The center-back penned a five year deal with the Spanish La Liga side two weeks ago from Belgian champions Genk for a fee reported to be around €5 million.

Due to his participation with the Black Stars at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament held in Egypt, the club decided to give him some time to rest and spend time with his family in the off-season before joining them for training.

Having exhausted the break, Aidoo joined his new teammates to train for the first time on Tuesday as they gear up for the next season.

He was not available for Celta Vigo’s friendly match with French side Lille where they won 1-0 but will be hoping to feature in the team’s next friendly before the new season comes around.

He will play a key role for Celta Vigo in the upcoming season as they hope to enjoy a better season than the previous one where they narrowly escaped relegation.
