Black Stars team doctor Prince Pamboe has raised serious concerns over KF Egnatia's decision to register Raphael Dwamena after the striker removed his cardiac defibrillator.

The tragic incident unfolded on November 11th during KF Egnatia's clash against KF Partizani in the Albanian Superliga, resulting in the untimely death of the talented player.

Dwamena, 28, died at the Kavaja hospital. He was on the pitch when he fell unconscious in the 23rd minute.

He got first aid on the field from the players and medical personnel and was subsequently transferred to the hospital, but he died of a heart attack.

"There is ICD when they detect you have a heart problem you have the strength to play football but because of the strength of your heart getting weaker and it might stop suddenly you are fitted with ICD," Dr Pamboe told Peace FM as monitored by Footballghana.com

"I mentioned someone like Eriksen who is playing he is fitted with one that situation is there or that technology is there but where  I am confused is that if the club in Albania knows the player has ICD and the player has removed it then the protection he gets from the ICD wasn't there.

"So what did they do that made them come to the conclusion to sign him yes when we detect a heart issue we can fix an ICD to help you of course (he shouldn't have been registered when he removed it). It got to a point where the kind 0f heart problem our brother had there was no way even the ICD would have helped him a lot,"
