Ghana Premier League side King Faisal are weighing up amove for ex-Asante Kotoko striker Songne Yacouba in the on-going transfer window.

The 28-year-old has been linked with a move to several clubs in the topflight with Medeama SC the latest club to express their interest in him.

However, the Mauve and Yellow pulled out of the deal in the 11th-hour after Yacouba reportedly demanded $100k for signing on fee.

King Faisal are ready to take advantage of the failed move with their Sporting Director Nana Amankwah Kwakye disclosing that his outfit will try to sign the Burkina Faso international as a backup for Ibrahim Osman.

"We are looking at the possibility of bringing Songne Yacouba to be a backup for Ibrahim Osman," he told footballmadeinghana.com.

"Currently, Ibrahim is ahead of him. Yacouba has not registered a goal in the league. But Osman has scored 8 goals so far.

"So we are looking at the possibility of meeting his representative and see how we can strike a deal."

Yacouba parted ways with Asante Kotoko after his contract expired on April 1, 2020.

He joined the Porcupine Warriors on a two-year deal after successful trials in 2018, however, he turned down several contract extensions talks with the club.

He became an instant hit at the club after scoring two goals and providing five assists for Kotoko during their 2018 CAF Confederation Cup campaign.
