Head Coach for Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Kjetil Zachariassen has noted that he is happy Shafiu Mumuni bagged a hat-trick for Ashanti Gold in their 3-0 win against Akonangui FC on Saturday, August 24, 2019.

The Ghana Premier League club hosted the Equatorial Guinea side at the Len Clay Sports Stadium over the weekend for the second leg tie in the preliminary round of the CAF Confederations Cup.

Having drawn 1-1 in the first leg, the Miners played above themselves and recorded an emphatic 3-0 victory over their opponent to ensure they cruised into the next phase of the inter-club competition courtesy a 4-1 aggregate win.

With Shafiu Mumuni netting all three goals on the day, former Ashgold Coach Kjetil Zachariassen has commended the player for his efforts.

Commenting on the striker’s performance, the Norwegian tactician shared, “We are happy for Shafiu who score three goals. So we are happy, very happy for them”.

Shafiu Mumuni is expected to be key for the Yellow and Black lads when they engage RSB Bekane in the second round of this year’s CAF Confederations Cup.
