Kofi Amponsah: Ex-Ghana defender confident 'passionate' CK Akonnor will succeed with Black Stars

Former Olympiacos defender, Kofi Ampnsah has stressed that he is confident CK Akonnor will succeed as the head coach for the Black Stars if given the necessary support.

CK Akonnor, a former Black Stars captain was appointed as the head coach for the senior team of the Ghana national team last January as he replaced veteran gaffer, James Kwesi Appiah.

With high expectations on the former Kotoko and Hearts of Oak coach to perform, he has received backing from Kofi Amponsah.

According to the former Ghanaian international, CK Akonnor has the strength and passion to help him enjoy success with the Black Stars.

“I was not surprised when he C.K Akunnor was appointed to coach the Black Stars. I remember I was once telling a friend in Tema that the job should be given to C.K, he will deliver.

“So I was not surprised at all to see him there. He has a passion for the game. He has the strength, he can do the job, let’s give him time and the support”, Kofi Amponsah told Ashaiman TV.
