Kotoko coach Abdul Gazale blames Sherif Mohammed for conceding late goal against Gold Stars

Asante Kotoko interim coach, Abdul Gazale has called out defender Sherif Mohammed after the team conceded a late goal in their game against Bibiani Gold Stars.

Having taken the lead against Gold Stars through Solomon Sarfo Taylor, Abednego Tetteh scored a late goal to end the game 1-1 at the Baba Yara Stadium in the matchday 30 games.

Abednego Tetteh connected with a cross from the right flank to head equalize for the away side.

After the game, Abdul Gazale questioned Sherif Mohammed’s decision-making after the defender allowed Prince Owusu to let the cross in.

“Sherif didn’t do well, he needed to close in the gap but he kept on moving back until the opponent got the cross in the area and it caused a goal," he told StarTimes.

Asante Kotoko have now won only one of their last six games in the league and are seven points behind league leaders Adauan Stars who have a game in hand.

The Porcupine Warriors now sit 6th on the league log with 44 points and will play relegated Kotoku Royals on Sunday in the matchday 31 games at the Theatre of Dreams at Dawu.
