Our win against Kotoko has given us more hope - Great Olympics coach on relegation battle

Great Olympics coach Bismark Kobi Mensah has opened up on his outfit relegation battle after Kotoko win on Thursday.

The defending champions were upset 2-0 by the Wonder Club, with two goals from Michael Osei and Emmanuel Akesseh.

Osei scored in the eighth minute with a header from Christopher Nettey's cross, and Akesseh scored his first goal in Ghana's top flight six minutes before halftime to put Great Olympics back on track.

After the game, Kobi Mensah said the win against Kotoko give his side more hope amid relegation battle.

"Playing against Kotoko was a headache for me because they also want to win the league."

But we prepared very well for the game and I think we deserved the win because we were very dominant in all departments in the first half showing resilience and determination. And that has won the game for us,"

Asked if the clubs survival hopes remain on course after the win, he said, “I think it has given us more hope especially after our disappointment in the last game. We came into this game with the mindset of winning than any other thing” he said.

Great Olympics have moved one place up from the relegation zone after beating Kotoko. They now sit 15th spot with 35 points after 28 matches into the season.
