Canadian-born Ghanaian midfielder Kwame Awuah delivered a standout performance in Loudoun United FC's 1-1 draw against Indy Eleven in the USL Championship on Saturday.

Prior to the match, Indy Eleven held a superior record with 5 wins to Loudoun United's 2, with no previous draws between the teams.

Awuah, who started the game at the Michael A. Carroll Stadium, demonstrated his endurance by playing the full 90 minutes. The match was evenly balanced with both teams maintaining equal ball possession, although Loudoun United managed to outshoot their opponents.

The deadlock was broken in the 58th minute when Wesley Leggett (Loudoun United) scored a header from the center of the box, finding the bottom right corner. The decisive assist was provided by Kwame Awuah.

However, Indy Eleven equalized in the 74th minute through Elliot Collier's left-footed shot from the center of the box, soaring into the high center of the goal. Tyler Gibson was credited with the assist.

Awuah, aged 28, has been a consistent performer in the 2024 USL Championship, featuring in 18 games and providing four assists so far. Loudoun United FC will next face Charleston Battery as they continue their campaign.
