Ghanaian-born Belgian winger Francis Amuzu's injury struggles persist as he was forced off in the 60th minute of Anderlecht's match against KV Mechelen on Saturday due to a hamstring issue.

An MRI scan on Sunday revealed a strain, ruling him out of Thursday's clash against Belarusian club Dinamo Minsk.

Francis Amuzu had only recently returned from an ankle injury sustained in a friendly against Wolfsburg. This latest setback follows a season marred by pubalgia and other injuries.

Despite his recurring fitness issues, Francis Amuzu made a significant impact before his exit, scoring his first goal of the season to put Anderlecht ahead 2-1 with a brilliant strike from a tight angle, assisted by Yari Verschaeren.

Anderlecht secured a 3-1 victory at the Veoliastadion Achter De Kazerne, with goals from Ludwig Augustinsson and Théo Leoni. Francis Amuzu's compatriot midfielder Majeed Ashimeru was an unused substitute for Anderlecht. Anderlecht is first on the league table with 10 points after four games.
