Now that another weekend of frantic LaLiga Santander action has come to a close, it is time to find out who has made it into the LaLiga Fantasy MARCA Best XI.
With the exception of CD Leganes's double contribution, no LaLiga Santander club has provided more than one player in what is a very well-balanced side. The Best XI racked up a total of 130 points and the Player of the Matchday is Mikel Oyarzabal, who was influential in Real Sociedad's Basque derby win, notching a brace and registering 15 points in the process.
Leganes goalkeeper Ivan Cuellar (11 points) gets the nod between the sticks, thanks to a string of fine saves in his team's home win over Rayo Vallecano.
Ezequiel Garay was the top-scoring defender over the weekend, with 12 points. The Argentine put in a rock-solid defensive display and also scored in Valencia CF's draw with FC Barcelona. The centre-back is joined in the rearguard by Atletico Madrid's Lucas Hernandez (11) and SD Eibar's Anaitz Arbilla (10).
The midfield four sees Player of the Matchday Oyarzabal line up alongside Pablo Sarabia (15), who got on the scoresheet for new league leaders Sevilla FC against RC Celta, R. Valladolid's Ruben Alcaraz (13) and Leganes's Oscar Rodriguez (11).
Leo Messi (10), Cristhian Stuani (13) and Sergio Garcia (10) make up a lethal attacking trio to complete a strong LaLiga Fantasy MARCA Matchday 8 Best XI.
