Published on: 23 October 2018

With Matchday 9 of LaLiga Santander coming to a close, it is time to find out who made the cut in the LaLiga Fantasy MARCA Best XI.

There's one club that stood out more than the rest this matchday and they make their presence felt in this Fantasy XI – D. Alaves. Aberlardo's charges are enjoying a dream start to the season and three of their players are featured in this team: Victor Laguardia, Ximo Navarro and Tomas Pina. However, it's R. Valladolid CF's Antoñito who claims the award for Player of the Matchday. The 30-year-old netted the winner for the newly promoted side in their 1-0 victory at R. Betis, enough to earn him 14 Fantasy points.

The goalkeeper in this XI is Girona FC's Bono. The Moroccan pulled off several great saves against Real Sociedad, helping his side come away with a clean sheet.

The aforementioned Antoñito is the undisputed star of this defence, having scored 14 points. The R. Valladolid stopper performed admirably at the back but also contributed in attack, hitting the winner against Betis. He features alongside Alaves duo Laguaria and Navarro, who earned 14 and 12 points respectively, as well as Sergio Postigo and Kenneth Omeruo, who both claimed 11 points.

The midfield three consists of Toni and Jose Morales, who earned 10 points, and Tomas Pina, who claimed 12. The R. Valladolid star provided Antoñito with an assist for his goal, while Pina and Morales played key roles in their sides' victories.

This Fantasy XI is rounded off by the attacking duo of Lionel Messi and Borja Iglesias. The Argentine legend scored the second of FC Barcelona's four goals against Sevilla FC, earning him 12 points, while the RCD Espanyol forward claimed a brace against SD Huesca, which saw him collect 14 points.
