Leeds United sign Ghanaian starlet Caleb Ekuban

Leeds United have sealed a move for Caleb Ekuban, the club announced via their official website.

Ekuban signs from Italian side Chievo, and hopes to play a prominent role in the club's promotion battle. The fee is undisclosed.

The 23-year-old striker is half Ghanaian, and spent last season on loan at Albanian side Partizani Tirana.

He scored 17 goals for the club, the best return of his short career so far.

It is somewhat of a gamble by Leeds to bring in an untested striker, but they have top scorer Chris Wood at their disposal, and can afford to take a punt on a prolific striker full of confidence.

Ekuban follows Samu Saiz, who Leeds announced yesterday was joining from Huesca.

Leeds' official website states Ekuban could feature in the club's friendly on Wednesday night against North Ferriby United, and will travel on their pre-season tour of Austria.

The upcoming tour has led to an increased push from Leeds to get deals over the line this week and he may not be the final addition.
