Legon Cities coach Maxwell Konadu wants club to improve on finishing despite beating Kotoko

Legon Cities coach Maxwell Konadu believes his side could have beaten Kotoko in the first half if his players were clinical at goal.

The Porcupine Warriors suffered their second consecutive defeat in the domestic top-flight at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday.

The two-time African Champions were unable to make their home ground count as Legon Cities inflicted a 3-1 win over the Kumasi-based club in matchday 26 of the Ghana Premier League.

Michel Otou and a brace from experienced forward Hans Kwoffie ensured the Royals pick all points at stake.

Speaking after the game, Maxwell Konadu indicated they could killed the game in the first half considering the chances they created.

“Both teams did well, with all due respect to my beloved club Kotoko. It’s a team I know too well and from the initial stages we practiced that we have to come and isolate their full backs”.

“I believe we could have killed the game in the first half but that is football, we go and try improve on our finishing”, the former Asante Kotoko SC trainer told StarTimes after the game.

The Reds were looking to bounce back to winning ways after losing to RTU last week but that failed.

Legon Cities FC becomes the second side to beat Asante Kotoko SC three goals this season after King Faisal did it in the first leg at the same venue.

The victory takes Legon Cities to 8th on the table and Asante Kotoko still lie top of League with Bechem United who they lead eight points yet to play.
