Liverpool to Offer Star Man Phillipe Coutinho New Deal to Ward Off Barcelona and PSG Interest

Liverpool's midfield star Phillipe Coutinho only signed fresh terms with the Merseyside giants 18-months ago, but his fine form this season for both club and countryhas seen the Reds rush to secure his long-termfuture, according to a report in theSunday People.


The report states that the diminutive play-maker's performances have caught the eye of perennial La Liga championsBarcelona, but that the club are determined to offer both him and Adam Lallana new deals to fend of interest.

The Reds will be particularly desperate to tie Coutinho down given Barca's successful pursuit of Luis Suarez two seasons ago. The Brazilian kicked off the Premier League campaign with an exquisite free-kick against Arsenal and has followed that up with impressive performances that has seen the Reds move into fourth place in the league.

And according to a report in theExpress, French Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint Germain made a£22.5m approach for the Reds' Player of the Year in the summer, only to be promptly knocked back by the club.


FrenchmagazineLe 10 Sport,further states thatPSG will renew their interest in January, or the summer, after their unsuccessful attempts to prise Coutinho away from Anfield. However, it remains to be seen whether the Reds would sanction such a move given their reliance on his quality and adaption to Jurgen Klopp'sgegenpressingstyle.
