Luis Enrique Confirms He Will Step Down as Barcelona Manager at the End of the Season

Barcelona manager Luis Enrique has confirmed that he will step down from his position with the Catalan giants at the end of the season.

The 46-year-old has come under pressure over the course of the current campaign for what some fans see as sub-par results, with things coming to a head during last month's 4-0 Champions League thrashing at the hands of Paris Saint-Germain.

Speaking after his side dispatched Sporting Gijon 6-1 on Wednesday, he said:"The way I do this job is why I have to leave. There are very few hours to rest. I need to rest."

Enrique has won almost everything there is to win during his three years at the club, with two Spanish titles, two Copas del Rey, a Champions League trophy, Club World Cup and both the Spanish and European Super Cups.

Luis Enrique admits he is tired. Time for others. He told players before announcing it in the press conference

Spanish football expert Guillem Balague reports that the former Real Madrid and Barca star told his players of his decision before making the announcement to the press.
