Man City boss Guardiola: If a club has €300M for Messi...

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola refused to shut down talk of a shock move for Barcelona star Lionel Messi last night.

Barca vice-president Jordi Mestre has admitted in recent days that the Argentine's new contract remains unsigned, despite terms being settled for several weeks.

This has sparked claims of City being prepared to meet his €300m buyout clause before next week's transfer deadline.

After last night's 1-1 draw with Everton, Guardiola was asked about the speculation - and refused to rule anything out.

He replied: "If any team is willing to pay 300 million for Messi, it will be because that club has it, and if they want to, they will pay it."
