Man City Midfielder Fernandinho Targeting FA Cup Trophy Ahead of Replay With Huddersfield

Manchester City midfielder Fernandinho has expressed his hope of winning the FA Cup ahead of Wednesday night's fifth round replay against Huddersfield.


The winner at the Etihad Stadium will play against Middlesbrough in the quarter-final on March 11.


Fernandinho has revealed his desire to win the competition, and insisted that the club are not prioritising the Premier League and Champions League over the FA Cup.

"If we win we are in the quarter-finals and after that we can be at Wembley," he said - viathe club's official website.

The Brazilian has been utilisedin numerous positions by manager Pep Guardiola in recent weeks, including both left-back and right-back.


He admitted that playing such differing roles can be difficult to adjust to, but made no complaints about his new-found versatility.

No matter what position I play, the aim is always to have possession of the ball, create supremacy, to allow the team to feel that we have more players in the midfield - to help create more passes and chances,� he added.


Of course it's a different position [left-back] and I was not used to it but we gain knowledge and are able to be good with the tactics.


I don't know what position I will be playing from now on.I will try to play as often as possible as a midfielder, but for me the most important is the team's victory and try to achieve a good position on the Premier League table.�
