Man United Youngster Ready to Cut Short Granada Loan Spell for Potential Game Time at Old Trafford

Andreas Pereira is ready to cut short his loan spell with Granada in January and return to Manchester United if first-team opportunities at Old Trafford are available.

The attacking midfielder has spent the past four months enjoying a temporary spell with the La Liga side, but could be set to head back to his parent club if he is asked to do so by manager Jose Mourinho, according to the Daily Mirror.

The newspaper claims that Pereira has sensed that he could be afford regular game time under the Portuguese boss as doubts persist over a number of first-team stars in the Red Devils camp, and he would be open to curtailing his spell in Spain to help bolster Mourinho's ranks in the New Year.

Summer signing Henrikh Mlhitaryan has struggled to make the desired impact in the Premier League since his £27m from Borussia Dortmund, while the likes of Memphis Depay and Wayne Rooney have been less-than-impressive when called upon to play.

The Mirror also believes that Mourinho has kept in regular contact with Pereira, and the 20-year-old has been given assurances that he will be part of United's first-team squad upon his return to England - whether that be in two months' time or at the end of the season.

Back in September, Pereira was quoted as saying that the ex-Chelsea and Real Madrid manager had told him of his plans to include the former PSV Eindhoven youth product in his squad from next term.

Pereira said: "Mourinho told me that he likes my style of play a lot and that he liked what I did in pre-season. He wants to see how I play in Spain and then wants me to go back and play for him next season."

Poached by United for a trivial fee back in January 2012, Pereira made 13 first-team appearances for the 20-time English league champions before completing a loan switch to Granada in the summer.

Pereira, who has been deployed out wide as a left winger by the Spanish outfit, has featured on 10 occasions so far, but has been unable to help fire El Grana to a league win in any of their 11 matches this term.
