Man Utd legend Schmeichel: I\'m ready for management

Manchester United legend Peter Schmeichel says he's ready to enter management.

Schmeichel, whose son Kasper plays for Leicester City, announced his retirement from the game in 2003, but a return could be on the horizon.

He told Spillerforeningen: "What has always been training in my mind is being the coach or manager.

"In my last active years, I began to take a lot of training courses.

"But I suddenly also discovered how difficult it might be to be a manager if you are not good enough. Or ready for it.

"The squad I was in at Manchester City was a squad where a lot of star players were bought, but many of them were not star players.

"The attitudes were with many and they set themselves first.

"It just did not get well managed and it ended up in a lot of unnecessary conflicts, insecurities and irritation from a lot of players.

"I feel I'm ready and have enough understanding and life experience to be accountable to a group of young players of different talent, background, nationality and ethnicity."
