After Sergio Aguero's superb performance in mid-week, Manchester City Boss Pep Guardiola is more convinced than ever that the striker must stay at the Etihad Stadium.

TheManchester Evening Newsreports that sources within the club, were so impressed after his two goal performance against Huddersfield, that is has reinforced their decision not to sell him.

The latest statement of intent to come out of the blue side of Manchester, has been forced by the 28-year-old's latest comments about his future, where he has demanded that the club must enter into end-of-season talks about his future.

To observers from the outside, the timing of this ultimatum seems strange coming so soon after the Manchester City boss was full of praise for the Argentine following their FA Cup victory. Guardiola eulogised over Aguero's performance saying:

"It was the best performance I have seen from Sergio in many, many things. He scored two goals, and made another one, created a lot of chances."

The Spaniard finished by saying: "When he plays at that level, Sergio, he is unstoppable."

Unfortunately Aguero's recent comments could be classed as inflammatory when he said: "The club can say what it wants, but in June they will have to meet with me."

Manchester City have Aguero tied into a contract until 2020 and so the club are in a strong bargaining position, which they will need to be as rumours have persisted for a while about Real Madrid's interest in the forward.

The fact that the Ethiad side value Aguero even higher than Gareth Bale's £85.3, means that most clubs will seemingly be put off from making an approach.
