Manchester United eyes Ajax striker Brian Brobbey in potential summer move

Published on: 20 January 2024

Manchester United has renewed interest in Ajax striker Brian Brobbey, according to reports by Florian Plettenberg on X.

The interest in the 21-year-old prodigy dates back to last summer when the English giants were keen on securing his services, but a deal failed to materialize.

However, it seems that the channels of communication have remained wide open, as contact between Ajax, Brobbey, and Manchester United has persisted.

Despite a previous attempt to bring Brobbey to Old Trafford in the summer, negotiations never reached a decisive stage. Now, with the winter transfer window, Ajax remains steadfast in its refusal to let go of the star striker. The possibility of a mid-season switch for Brobbey appears absent, as the Dutch club is resolute in retaining their star.

Should Erik ten Hag continue as the coach of Manchester United, the summer of 2024 could witness a renewed pursuit of Brian Brobbey.

The striker has been in scintillating form, amassing an impressive thirteen goals and contributing four assists in 25 appearances this season.

With his contract extending until the summer of 2027, Brobbey remains a prized asset for Ajax.
