Manchester United Youngsters Considering Exit as Worries Grow About Chances Under Mourinho

Published on: 12 August 2016

A number of Manchester United youngsters are said to be nervous about their futures at the club, looking nervously over their shoulders after Jose Mourinho's big summer spending and worrying whether they'll get an opportunity to shine at Old Trafford.

Louis van Gaal was forced to give a raft of young players a first-team chance last season, and was largely praised for actually sticking with those who impressed even when the senior players returned from injury - Marcus Rashford and Timothy Fosu-Mensah getting good first-team runs.

The Mail report that the feeling around the club is less rosy for the less proven players this season, with a number of them actively putting feelers out to leave the club in order to avoid stalling their development.

Paddy McNair and Donald Love have already left the club in the last week, both moving to Sunderland in an attempt to find a club where they have a chance of breaking into the first team as regular starters - with Adnan Januzaj joining them at the Stadium of Light on loan.

Tyler Blackett, James Wilson and Will Keane are all expected to be on their way out in one way or another over the summer, as United continue to splash the cash on a number of the world's best players to slot straight into the first team.

Paul Pogba, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Eric Bailly were bought for close to a combined £150m, while Zlatan Ibrahimovic arrived at the club with sky-high wages after his free transfer from Paris Saint-Germain.

With the club's big-money business, combined with Mourinho's less than stellar reputation for bringing young players through when at previous clubs such as Chelsea, those young players are likely to keep looking for a speedy exit unless they receive assurances from the United boss.
