German-born Ghanaian defender Michael Akoto will most likely no longer play for Dynamo Dresden in the future.

Dynamo Dresden is restructuring the squad for the coming season and Michael Akoto is not in the club's plans.

The contract of the 25-year-old defender will not be renewed, according to Kicker.

Akoto appears to be considering a transfer to Scandinavia. If the goodbye is true, the defender may have played his final game for Dynamo on Monday evening in Meppen, since he received his fifth yellow card and is thus suspended for the game against VfB Oldenburg next Saturday.

Michael Akoto joined German Bundesliga 3 club Dynamo Dresden in 2021. He has made 30 appearances and scored one goal in all competitions for Dynamo.

The defender started his youth career at SV Frauenstein and SV Wehen Wiesbaden from 2013 to 2016.

He then moved to Mainz 05 II from 2018 to 2021 where he made 52 appearances and scored three goals in all competitions.
