Midfielder Kwame Kusi joins German outfit FC Phönix Lübeck

German-born Ghanaian international, Kwame Kusi has joined German lower-tier side FC Phönix Lübeck in the ongoing summer transfer window.

The 31-year old has loads of experience playing in the lower leagues of the European country and has been poached by the Lübeck-based club ahead of the next football season.

Kusi, a combative midfielder has been signed from Hamburger SV II to help FC Phönix Lübeck in the upcoming edition of the German Oberliga Schleswig-Holstein.

In an interview after the deal was completed, Sporting Director for FC Phönix Lübeck, Frank Salomon says the team is delighted with the acquisition of Kwame Kusi because he will be of massive help.

“Kusi's experience will be of great importance to us in a fight to stay up. He is in top shape and also an exceptional player. The team and especially the young players will benefit from him”, he said.

He added, “Our personnel planning has now been completed, we have filled all positions twice and are a great mix of young and experienced players”.

Last season, the Ghanaian scored once after featuring in 10 games for Hamburger SV II.
