Skyy FC owner, Wilson Arthur has indicated that a lot of the clubs in the country do not qualify to play in a strictly run professional league.
Making reference to the Division One League, the experienced football administrator has shared that clubs need the financial power to run the clubs but it is not the case in Ghana.
Speaking to Skyy FM, he pointed out that one of the reasons why players don’t perform at the highest level in some clubs is because they are not paid well.
“Most of our clubs won’t qualify to play in a professional league. You need to have the financial muscle to play in an elite division one league”, Wilson Arthur said.
He added, “Most teams are struggling on the pitch because players are hungry and less motivated”.
Meanwhile, the Ghana FA is commencing plans to reduce the number of participating teams in the Division One League from 48 to 18.
