Black Stars midfielder Mubarak Wakaso has debunked rumours making rounds that he disrespectfully insulted the sports minister, Nii Lante Vanderpuije.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Happy FM, the Panathinaikos midfield dynamo disclosed that he never had a confrontation with the sports minister as is being bundled around.

Wakaso, 26, further intimated that it was even the minister who came to show him the said report and the response he the minister gave to those peddling the rumour.

“I don’t know anything about me insulting Hon. Nii Lante Vanderpuije. It was even the minister who showed me the story which was making rounds in the presence of Asamoah Gyan and Agyeman Badu. He even showed me the response he gave to those peddling the rumours. I’m not bothered about it because I know nothing like that happened and the minister also knows that nothing of that sort happened between us.” Mubarak Wakaso told Happy FM.

Wakaso added that the minister even commended him for the way he carried himself during the meeting.

“After the meeting, the minister said that I spoke differently from the way he saw me and that I speak so maturely so we were both surprised at this story making rounds that I insulted the minister. I know that sometimes people may not like you and would want to say neagative things about you but I’m focused on my football career and my family.” Wakaso bemoaned in his exclusive interview with Happy FM.

The Black Stars drew barren against their Ugandan counterparts in their 2018 World cup qualifier at the Tamale Sports Stadium Friday afternoon and are set to jet off to Durban, South Africa for a friendly duel on Tuesday
