‘My boys were tactically disciplined against Kotoko’ - GoldStars coach Michael Osei

Bibiani GoldStars head coach Michael Osei has showered huge praise on his players for their performance against Asante Kotoko.

Osei said his players were tactically disciplined hence their first ever win over the record Ghana champions.

The Miners beat the Porcupine Warriors 2-1 at the Dun’s Park on Saturday on match day two of the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League.

Speaking after the game, Michael Osei said: “It was amazing, amazing performance. They were determined. They were very disciplined in our tactical play. During the game you can see all the departments we were very organized. We were very super in the whole game.

“So, I am even short of words. I’m so happy for the performance and the score line today.”

Prince Kwabena Owusu headed Michael Osei’s hosts into the lead from a cross into the middle of the box six minutes after the hour mark.

Eight minutes later, substitute Sherif Mohammed drew Asante Kotoko level with a finish from close range.

Bosomtwi won all three points for GoldStars with a stunning long-range strike that has goalkeeper Frederick Asare pegged to his position in the 74th minute.

The home side had two goals disallowed for an infringement on the goalkeeper and an offside.
