Assistant coach of the Black Satellites, Odartey Lamptey, has declared his willingness to take up the mantle of coaching the senior national team, the Black Stars, when the opportunity presents itself.

Lamptey, who has been an assistant coach for six months, emphasized that his door is always open for such a role.

Despite not having a traditional classroom education, Lamptey believes his practical experience and contributions to football, including establishing an academy 10 years ago, equip him with the necessary skills to lead the Black Stars.

He highlighted the facilities he has set up and the young talents he has nurtured as evidence of his capability.

"I stated not today that my door is always open because I know what I can give back yes I did not sit in classroom fine but I have been able to put up a school. Every work that you do you have to educate yourself it is not only in theory so my door is always open," he told Peace FM as monitored by Footballghana.com

"When I started saying this it is not today I wanted this opportunity long ago the little time had now six months into this appointment yes apart from that when I look at the academy I have established for the past 10 years if I look at whatever I have given back facilities I have put up children I have produced i know what i can offer.

"And experience I have in football every when they say diploma anything that is education wise in football somebody like Abedi Pele has it, Tony Yeboah has it you can't take it away from them we have it. What remains now is to get the opportunity and the believe to be able to do it,"
