Prior to the match, the highly-rated attacker reportedly displayed indiscipline behaviour which did not please interim manager Marcel Groninger.

For his punishment, he missed out on a starting role in the game against the Cyprus U-21 team which ended with the Dutch running away with a huge win.

Asked about what happened, coach Marcel Groninger refused to give out the details but revealed that it was “For disciplinary reasons”.

After a game where Myron Boadu climbed off the bench to score, he apologized and explained that the punishment was a result of oversleeping and reporting to breakfast late.

“I overslept twice and was therefore twice late for breakfast. That is stupid. It makes sense that you are next to it. I agree with the trainer that he gave me that punishment”, the youngster said.

He continued, “For me, it is not a big problem and we should not make it bigger than it is. I apologized and promised him that I would score if I were allowed to fill in. It's great that it worked out. ”
