New FIFA amendment means Ghana can add three more players to squad for 2022 World Cup

Ghana will have the chance to increase its squad for the 2022 FIFA World Cup from 23 to 26 before travelling to Qatar for the tournament.

This is a result of the latest amendment made by the Bureau of the FIFA Council which is composed of the FIFA President and the six confederation presidents.

At past tournaments, national teams that qualified had the chance to go to the tournament with 23 players.

The new amendments mean Ghana and the other 22 national teams set to feature at the Qatar world cup will have the opportunity to add three more players.

At the 2022 FIFA World Cup. Ghana has been pitted in Group H. The Black Stars will have a tough test having been drawn in a Group that has giants Portugal, two-time winners Uruguay, as well as Asian outfit South Korea.

In the next few months, Ghana head coach Otto Addo will continue to monitor players to assemble the best squad for the mundial set to be staged from November to December.
