Ghana international Frank Acheampong could be in his way to England following Newcastle United's interest in signing him from Anderlecht.

Newcastle United have significantly improved their attacking lineup this summer with the big money signings of Dwight Gayle and Matt Ritchie.

In addition to Gayle and Ritchie, Newcastle already possess quality players such as Ayoze Perez, Aleksandar Mitrovic, Adam Armstrong and Rolando Aarons among others in their squad and the Magpies are arguably armed with one of the best attacks in the Championship this season.

That being said though, Newcastle do look set to lose the services of key men such as Georginio Wijnaldum, Moussa Sissoko and Siem De Jong among others within the next few weeks and as a result, manager Rafael Benitez will surely have to look for replacements.

Now according to reports from Africa Top Sports, claims are being made that Newcastle are currently considering a move for Anderlecht winger Frank Acheampong.

Acheampong is a tricky left winger who impressed in Belgium last season, scoring 9 goals as well as providing 6 assists and his exploits has caught the attention of a number of big clubs around Europe.

Newcastle are believed to be one of the clubs interested in signing Acheampong and Magpies could make a move for the 22-year-old as a replacement for one of their wantaway stars.

Acheampong is tied down to Anderlecht till 2019 and his agent Olivier Konig revealed recently that the winger is in no hurry to leave the Belgian side by saying, "Frank is very happy at Anderlecht and has a contract until 2019. So there is still nothing concrete at the moment.”
