Interim Rwanda coach Jimmy Mulisa has revealed there is no more panic in playing against Ghana compared to his playing days.

The 32 year old Mulisa has made several appearances for the Rwanda national football team, including 11 qualifying matches for the 2006 and 2010 FIFA World Cups and was recently elevated to handle the national team after Northern Irish football manager Johnny McKinstry parted ways with the Rwandans.

Jimmy Mulisa in an interview with Kwabena Yeboah after his side’s 1-1 draw with Ghana at the Accra sports stadium revealed his side wasn’t afraid heading into the game since he gave them no reason to.

“In the past when I was playing, it was always scary when we are to play against Ghana but things have changed now and the gap is closing up.”

“There is no more panic playing against Ghana so I told my playing not to show them too much respect.” He said. Fourteen (14) years ago, teenager Jimmy Mulisa was part of the Rwanda squad that suffered a 4-2 loss to Ghana in an AFCON 2004 qualifier in Accra.

Coach Jimmy Mulisa and his lads will have to wait for the outcome of the other group game between Mozambique and Mauritius to know whether they can join Ghana to the 2017 Afcon.
