NorthEast United interim coach, Khalid Jamil has disclosed that the many injury setbacks at the club are a contributive factor to why they are struggling in the Indian Super League (ISL).

The club which started the 2019/2020 season on a very good note has failed to record a win in any of their last five matches.

Explaining what is causing the bad spell of form, coach Khalid Jamil says the many injury setbacks to players such as Asamoah Gyan has not helped matters.

“Some players got injured. Then new replacements came in. So maybe this is the reason”, the gaffers said.

Gyan who got injured a couple of months was instrumental to the team’s good start where he scored 6 goals for the side. Since his injury, the woes of the club have worsened as they now sit 9th on the standings.
