According to sports journalist Saddick Adams in a post via his Twitter account the family of one of Ghana’s most celebrated sports administrators Ohene Gyan has petitioned the Presidency to have the Accra Sports Stadium name revert to Ohene Gyan Stadium.
The Ohene Gyan family told the Accra-based Angel FM that having the name changed to Accra Sports Stadium was an embarrassment to the family.
The Accra Sports Stadium was renamed after Ohene Djan, the country's first Director of Sports, in 2004 after renovations.
