Paris Saint-Germain Will Have to Break the Bank in Order to Sign French Superstar Griezmann

French giants Paris Saint-Germain are preparing to makeAtletico Madrid superstar Antoine Griezmann their next big signing according to reports in Spain.


Spanish news outletSportreported that French international Griezmann was being lined up by PSG after they failed in their pursuit of Barcelona's Brazilian winger Neymar last summer.


Griezmann did recently put pen to paper ona new deal which commits his future to Atletico Madrid - having said that,the new contract also includes a €100m release clause which PSG will have to fork outif they are to secure one of La Liga's hottest properties.

Patrick Kluivert, PSG's current sporting director, has insisted that gettingGriezmann is his main objective for the future. The Ligue 1 champions arestill seeking a long-term replacement for Zlatan Ibrahimovic in the centre of their attack, as well as a new face for their Qatari project.


Griezmann boasts some impressive stats in La Liga this season. In eight appearances, he has managed six goals and two assists. Atletico Madrid are currently in fifth position after nine games.

The Frenchman has spearheaded a successful Atletico team superblyunder Diego Simeone in the last few years. They won La Liga against the odds in 2013/14, and also reached the Champions League final in 2014 and 2016.


But both European finals were lost to neighbours Real Madrid, and thesearch for the biggest prize in club football has eluded Griezmann thus far.


Perhaps this quest for European glory will push him into the grateful arms of PSG, but not before they have found the cash to pay his astronomical release clause.
