Pellegrini: We must be careful

Published on: 13 December 2018

West Ham United boss Manuel Pellegrini has warned against complacency when his side take on rock-bottom Fulham on Saturday.

The Hammers have won three matches in a row and can be backed at 6/4 to triumph again against a Fulham team at Craven Cottage that are now managed by Claudio Ranieri.

The Italian's first game in charge of the Cottagers was a 3-2 victory against Southampton, 5/2 to be relegated this season, but since then they have lost to Chelsea and Manchester United and drawn with Leicester City.

Fulham, 1/1 not to be relegated this season, can be backed at 12/5 to draw against West Ham.

Pellegrini said: "We are improving without any doubt. The results say we are improving and scoring goals, which is not easy. It is not easy to win three games in a row and score three goals in each.

"We must be very careful. We must continue working in the same way. We must try to keep getting good results.

"It will be a difficult game [against Fulham]. They are bottom of the table but they have a new manager. Ranieri has just started there, of course. Every manager needs time and I hope he gets it.

"Lucas Perez has a pain. We are reviewing it. Jack Wilshere continues his treatment. He will not play in this game.

"On Friday we will know exactly who will be in the squad. Every player who recovers from injuries is an important player for us."
