Penalty awarded Asante Kotoko was not legitimate – Medeama forward Benjamin Bature

Medeama attacker Benjamin Bature says the penalty awarded Asante Kotoko against his outfit in the Ghana Premier League week 11 clash was not legitimate.

The Porcupine Warriors secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Medeama at the Baba Yara Stadium in the week 11 clash of the top-flight.

The referee awarded Kotoko a penalty after George Mfegue was hurled to the ground by a Medeama defender.

And Sheriff Mohammed made no mistake as he converts from the spot to hand the Ghanaian giants victory.

Speaking to Kessben FM monitored by Footballghana.com, the enterprising forward raised concerns about the penalty decision whiles he claim his side were denied a clear goal.

“We feel disappointed because our first goal against Kotoko wasn’t offside but the match officials ruled out a perfect goal. The penalty awarded against us too was not legitimate”

The CAF Champions League campaigners are 8th on the Ghana Premier League table with 16 points after 11 games.
