The Ghana Police Service have announced they are on a manhunt to arrest suspects who attacked Maxwell Konadu on Sunday.

After Bofoakwa Tano and Nsoatreman FC shared spoils in the matchday 11 game of the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League, the former Asante Kotoko head coach was attacked by the home fans.

The former Black Stars coach was beaten by the fans and was left unconscious.

Konadu was rushed to the Sunyani Regional Hospital for medical attention shortly after the attack.

Some members of the playing body and their fans were also assaulted by the home fans. Match officials were also assaulted.

However, the Ghana Police Service has confirmed they are on a manhunt to arrest the perpetrators.

Meanwhile, the Executive Council of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) have confirmed that the home grounds of Bofoakwa Tano, the Sunyani Coronation Park has been banned.

Results have not been forthcoming for Bofoakwa Tano recently. They have just one win in their last 8 league matches.

The draw means Maxwell Konadu’s team maintain their second place with 20 points from 11 matches, 1 point away from leaders Aduana FC who lost 2-1 to Karela United on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Bofoakwa Tano are fifth on the league table with 16 points, struggling for wins after their impressive start
