Portia Boakye votes in place of Elizabeth Addo for the FIFA women's player of the year

Black Queens captain, Elizabeth Addo has been ripped off her captaincy post with Portia Boakye taking the mantle.

Djurgårdens IF defender Portia Boakye takes over as captain of the senior national female team from 30-year-old Elizabeth Addo.

Portia was selected to vote for the FIFA women's player of the year award which is done by National team Coaches and captains.

China-based midfielder Elizabeth Addo, has been off action for the Queens since her last appearance in the 2018 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations tournament hosted in Ghana.

It is however not known what might have led to the decision for the appointment of a new captain by Coach Mercy Tagoe

Close sources indicate that, goalkeeper Fafali Dumahesi will assist Porti as the deputy skipper for the team.
