Cristian Romero talks about joining Tottenham Hotspur in London. The central defender told Sky Sports that teammate Giovani Lo Celso (25) had helped him settle in, but that he had “not influenced his decision to come here”. The 23-year-old continues: "It was entirely my decision to come to Tottenham because it is a big club that plays in the best league in the world."

Romero moved to Spurs on loan from Atalanta Bergamo in August. In the early stages of the season, the Argentine was only used sporadically by coach Nuno Espírito Santo. In the meantime, the newcomer has become stuck in central defense alongside Eric Dier (27).

He made his debut for the club on 15 August, coming on as a late substitute for Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg in the match against Manchester City that Tottenham won 1–0.
