Pressure on Aduana Stars to beat Gold Stars to stay top of league table

Published on: 25 April 2023

Aduana Stars will be under pressure on Thursday when the team takes on Bibiani Gold Stars in the Ghana Premier League.

The team has been the best in the division since the start of the 2022/23 Ghanaian top-flight league.

Unfortunately, for the side, the team suffered a setback over the weekend in the Week 27 encounter against Asante Kotoko.

In a clash played at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, Aduana Stars could not protect a one-goal lead and suffered a 2-1 defeat at the hands of the Porcupine Warriors at the end of the 90 minutes.

That defeat saw the team failing to open a bigger gap at the top of the Ghana Premier League table.

With Bechem United closing in on Aduana Stars and cutting the gap to just three, the team cannot afford to drop points in the midweek fixture against Bibiani Gold Stars.

If the Fire Boys want to win the Ghana Premier League title, the team must go for victory on Wednesday.

Tomorrow’s match between Aduana Stars and Gold Stars will kick off at 3pm at the Nana Agyemang Badu Park.
