Ghana and Azam FC goalkeeper Razark Abalora featured in his side’s 3-1 win over African Lyon at the Uhuru Stadium in Dar es Salaam on Friday.
Azam, who had their match-day 26 fixture played away, beat Lyon to reduce the points gap of the Mainland Tanzania Premier League 2018/19 season, as well as record their 15th win in the topflight after 26 games.
Abalora, who has made 23 starts this season started as he put up an incredible performance to help Azam trounce Lyon at their own backyard to accumulate 53points, having won 15 matches, drawn eight and lossing three.
Two second half goals each from Azam midfielder Mudathir Yahya and Roland Msonjo of Lyon (own goal) annexed all points for the visitors, after Audrey Chirwa had broken the deadlock as early as 6th minute.
However, Pato Ngonyani scored to level scores in the first half but was not enough to hold Abalora's side to a draw.
Azam Football Club currently lies 2nd on the league log with eight points difference between top placed Young Africans.
Meanwhile 22-year-old lasted the entire duration of the game.
