Real Madrid's Isco Prepared to Leave Club in Search of First-Team Action

Real Madrid midfielder Isco has admitted he may have to look elsewhere for first-team action should his current predicament at the La Liga side not improve.

Isco impressed in Spain playing for Malaga, and signed for Real in 2013. Despite making ahealthy amount of leagueappearances for Real, totalling over 100, he has frequently figured from the bench and remains behind the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema in the pecking order for a starting position.

Midfielders Luka Modrid and Toni Kroos have also made their respective positions their own, and, speaking to Marca, Isco said that his future may well lye away from the Bernabeu after failing to convince manager Zinedine Zidane of his pedigree.

"Yes, possibly, we are talking about the best players in the world, there is much competition and a line-up that is practically non-negotiable. It is possible that another team would play me more," he said when asked if it would be easier to play for another club.

"I talked to him [Zidane]and knew it would be difficult to start each games, but I accepted the challenge. I want to train hard, show that I can be a starter and that's what I will try now and for the rest of the year."

"In the end, if I'm not the star man with Ancelotti, Benitez or Zidane, I will not be foolish to look for problems where there are none. In the end, I'm responsible and that's where I must improve.

On a more positive note for the 24-year-old, he has been called for Spain's latest international squad, with new manager Julen Lopetegui knowing the strengths of Isco's game after the two worked together during Isco's time as a youth player for his country.

"Yes, we all like to wear the national team jersey, I am very happy to be here and for the opportunity that the coach gives me, it shows he trusts me.

"For me it means a lot, he knows since the Under-21s that little motivates me more than playing for my country, I can contribute a lot and have a lot of confidence."
