Real Tamale United fined and banned after Ghana Premier League match misconduct

The Disciplinary Committee of the Ghana Football Association has taken decisive action against Real Tamale United FC, imposing a hefty fine and banning the team from their home ground following a series of misconducts during their recent Ghana Premier League fixture against Medeama SC.

RTU FC found themselves in hot water after failing to ensure the safety of the Match Commissioner, a violation of section 16(1)(c) of the GFA Disciplinary Code, 2019.

Additionally, the club faced charges for the inappropriate behavior exhibited by their supporters, contravening section 16(2)(c) of the same code.

The club pleaded guilty to the charges and sought mitigation, the GFA Disciplinary Committee levied a fine of GHS10,000 on RTU. Moreover, the committee handed down a significant punishment by banning the team from hosting their next three home matches at the Aliu Mahama Stadium.

Real Tamale United was also warned that any further misconduct would result in severe sanctions.
