Red-Hot Gonzalo Higuain Full of Praise for Juventus Following 2-0 Win Over Cagliari

Gonzalo Higuain has praised the form of his side after a 2-0 win over Cagliari saw them go seven points clear of Roma at the top of Serie A.


"I am in good shape and so is the rest of the team," Higuainsaidas he scored a brace thatmade it 11 goals in nine games for the Argentine.

The striker continued:"Cagliari are a good team and it was a tough game. The important thing was to win. We didn't start the first half the way we wanted to and it was really difficult, but we emerged in the end.


"We knew Cagliari had a strong home record and we would have to work hard to win. Fortunately, we got the goal, then we scored again. The red card helped and we came through it."


Cagliari were reduced to ten men just after the hour mark, when they were already 2-0 down, when Nicolo Barella was shown his second yellow card of the game for a late tackle on Miralem Pjanic.

"Now we must rest and get ready for Palermo," Higuain added."We have only done our job, so we have to stay calm and make sure we continue like this.


"We are not thinking about Porto or the Champions League until Saturday."

Higuain's brace took him to goal number 18 of the season, making him the join-top goalscorer at the moment along with Roma's Edin Dzeko. The win also set Il Bianconeri up nicely for the final third of the season as they prepare to take on 18th placed Palermo in their next fixture.


After that comes an away trip to Porto for the first leg of their Round of 16 Champions League clash as the Italian giants look to add something on top of what looks likely to be a fifth consecutive Serie A title win.
