Ex-Asante Kotoko defender Richard Manu believes coach C.K Akunnor has the right personnel at the club despite his side failing to keep a clean sheet in the last four matches in their ongoing Caf Confederation Cup campaign.

According to him, he is convinced Kotoko's defensive frailties can be solved by the 44-year-old gaffer ahead of their upcoming matches in the competition.

The Porcupine Warriors have conceded 10 goals and kept only one clean sheet so far in their African campaign.

"I have been following Kotoko and I'm not surprised at where they have gotten to in the competition because they have the right players". There are some problems at the defence but I'm sure the coach will work on all those problems in the defence".

"They need a commander at the defence to command the defenders on the field. "The defenders must communicate very well on the field of play", he told Ashh Fm Super Sports.

Manu, however, added that, for the Reds to make it past the group stage of the Caf Confederation Cup, they must do away with home defeat, that will assure them qualification.

"Kotoko must win the two home games to secure their qualification into the next stage of the competition".

Richard Manu was a member of the Asante Kotoko team that won the Ghana Premier League in the 2007/08 team under coach Bashiru Hayford.

The German based player is currently undergoing several coaching courses as he aims to attain the necessary licenses to become a coach.
