Ronaldo Reveals Which of His International Teammates He'd Choose to Join Him at Real Madrid

Cristiano Ronaldo has revealed he would choose to play alongside international teammate Raphael Guerreiro at Real Madrid if given the opportunity to do so.

In a somewhat surprising admission, the Portugal captain chose the Borussia Dortmund star -over Bayern Munich teen sensation Renato Sanches -when quizzed over which player he would love to join him at the Bernabeu from a club based in Germany.

Guerreiro and Sanches were, like Ronaldo, part of Fernando Santos' Euro 2016 winning squad during the summer, with the pair joining their respective Bundesliga clubs after the international tournament had come to an end.

Speaking in an interview with German news outlet 11 Freunde, Real superstar Ronaldo stated that he would plump for left-back Guerreiro over the likes of midfield diamond Sanches if presented with the chance to play with one of the stars of either German outfit.

He said: "Sure, some (come to mind). We are talking about two of the best teams in the world. Of course they have the best players in the world. To name only one who would strengthen us at Real would be unfair. Perhaps my national team colleague Raphael Guerreiro."

Guerreiro, 22, has impressed since he made the switch to the Westfalonstadion in a £10m movefrom Ligue 1 side Lorient following his exertions at Euro 2016.

The full-back, who is also adept at playing left midfield or a holding midfielder, has already played 12 times for his new club, with three goals and five assists accrued along the way.

Meanwhile, 19-year-old Sanches - labelled the next big thing in Portugal - has made 10 appearances for Carlo Ancelotti's Bayern Munich side since his £30m summer switch from Benfica, though he is yet to complete 90 minutes for the German giants.

The duo have also amassed 15 and 11 caps respectivelyat senior level for Portugal since making their debuts in November 2014 and March 2016.
