Samuel Boadu lauds players after Medeama return to top GPL table

Coach Samuel Boadu praised his Medeama SC players for keeping their cool as they kept the pressure on Aduana Stars in the Ghana Premier League title race with a 2-0 triumph over Legon Cities on Saturday.

A brace from Prince Opoku Agyemang sealed all three points for the Mauve and Yellows and put them above Aduana Stars at the top of the table.

Medeama lead the standings with 30 points, three points adrift second-placed Aduana Stars who have a game in hand against Bechem United.

Coach Boadu was impressed that his side played to instruction in a tense clash at the Accra Sports stadium.

"For today, I will congratulate the boys, they did well, and they played to instruction and tactically, we were disciplined on the field… so I give them maxi mum points, they did well," he said in his post-match interview.

"The focus is we are always developing the young ones and we play match after match. We have won this game…and we are going home to prepare against Chelsea, so we are concentrating on the Chelsea game."

Medeama SC will welcome Berekum Chelsea to Akoon Park in Tarkwa on Sunday on mach week 16 of the Ghana Premier League.
