Ghanaian international Samuel Brobbey has shared his delight after bagging a brace for his Jong Almere City FC side over the weekend in their 3-2 win against ONS Sneek in the Dutch second division.

The defender has not been enjoying first-team action for his team on a regular basis but hopes to make an impression to change that situation.

In the limited number of playing time he has enjoyed, he has managed to play very well and has been tipped to eventually get into the first team of Almere City FC.

He was in action last Saturday and bagged a brace to help his team recover from a goal down to win 3-2 at the end of the 90 minutes.

In a post-match interview, Samuel Brobbey looked back at his performance and stressed that scoring as a defender gives him great delight.

“We were 0-1 behind during the game, but then I scored twice in a row within five minutes.

“I came strong for the first goal for my team. I then dribbled through the defense and worked the ball behind the keeper.

“The other goal came from a combination with our offside player. From that I received a cross ball that I worked in in the short corner”, he indicated.

He further stressed, “I don't score often, but I'm actually more of the assists," says the defender. Normally I do regularly come for the goal, but then I often give the ball to my teammate. This time I made the hit myself. Feel better? Make a goal, because it will be in your name. That gives a special feeling”.
