Samuel Obeng scores twice as Black Meteors defeat Shooting Stars in friendly

Span-based Ghanaian forward, Samuel Obeng Gyabaa found the back of the net twice on Saturday morning at the Accra Sports Stadium as the Black Stars beat Shooting Stars 2-0 in a friendly.

Head coach Ibrahim Tanko and his boys are preparing for the 2019 CAF U-23 Africa Cup of Nations tournament and decided to test their strength in a warm-up game.

At the end of a very good exercise, Real Oviedo striker Samuel Obeng bagged a brace to hand the Meteors a deserved two-nil victory.

Ghana will build on today’s win as they wrap up preparations for the U-23 tournament which will be hosted in Egypt.

Coach Tanko and his men will need to see off competition from the host nation, Mali, and Cameroon to secure qualification to the knockout phase of the tournament.

The tournament will start on Friday, November 8, 2019, with Ghana expected to play her first match against Cameroon.
